Moise Kean keen on proving himself at Everton next season

Italy international Moise Keane has said that he is determined to prove himself at Everton following a forgettable first season with the club. The youngster joined the Toffees with high expectations after turning down advances from the likes of Arsenal but his performances were far from impressive.

The 20-year-old struggled to make any notable impact during the initial stages of the Premier League and the trend remained the same for the entire campaign where he played second fiddle to Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the centre-forward role. He ended the campaign with just two league goals to his name and one of those came in the final game of the season which the Toffees lost 3-1 to relegated Bournemouth.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Kean has now said that he is determined to prove his credentials and will try to repay the faith shown by Ancelotti, he told: “When we come back, I am going to be ready to show to the boss I am always ready to help my team and play well. Every day he asks me to do more and I try to show I can be in his team. He asks me to be focused and always give more and I try to repay him. We have a short break to refresh the mind, then we must come back with more motivation. The end of the season wasn’t what we wanted but we are going to come back stronger and work hard.”

Kean has been linked with a possible return to the Italian top-flight and that could happen this summer. The marksman is determined to prove his worth to the Toffees, and the club could make a decision on his future depending on his performances during the opening weeks of next season. The Toffees are deemed to be eyeing another striker ahead of next term.
