Serie A giants Juventus have identified an alternative player should they fail in their bid to sign Manchester United’s Paul Pogba this summer. Pogba is currently Juve’s number-one target and they have now set their sights on another midfield superstar who they feel will be a worthy alternative to their side if they fail to convince the Red Devils to part ways with one of their key players in the summer transfer window.
French Midfielder HoussemAouar who plays for Ligue 1 side Lyon has been earmarked as the next option by Juve manager Andrea Pirlo in case they are unable to get their hands on Pogba. Pogba returned to United five years ago after leaving Juventus where he played for four years after initially leaving the Red Devils in 2012 due to a lack of game time.
Even though he has enjoyed a decent four-year stint with United, the World Cup-winning midfielder has always come under the spotlight every year with fans and pundits calling for his head anytime United lose a game or do not perform well.
Anytime he struggles in a United shirt, more questions surface as to whether it was really a good idea to splash up to a whopping £89 million to secure his services in 2016.
So far this season, however, Pogba has been one of United’s most important players and is currently on a run of fine form judging by the last couple of games he has played for the Red Devils. His fine form has brought back rumors about his potential exit and Juventus are still the front-runners for his signature. But with United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær always insisting that his star midfielder is happy at the club and will unlikely leave, Juve have now set their sights on Aouar who they see as their plan B.
