INZAGHI BACKS EL SHAARAWY

Standard

AC Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi says that he expects to see striker Stephan El Shaarawy amongst the best in the world in the next few years. The Italian international was touted as one of the next big things in world football a few years ago, but the presence of big-name players like Mario Balotelli ahead of him in the pecking order limited his first-team opportunities. Still just 21 years old, the striker has a lot of time to find his feet. After AC Milan signed Fernando Torres on a two-year loan deal from Chelsea in the summer, it was speculated that El Shaarawy’s first-team opportunities would be reduced even more. Continue reading

Conte proves himself

Standard

Antonio Conte left the managerial position of Juventus in a very surprising way as he decided to step down from the Italian club after having successfully guided Juventus to their 3rd consecutive Serie A title. Supporters of the club were expecting him to continue pushing Juventus to more glory and more pieces of silverware but on the 15th of July, Conte resigned as the manager.

Rumors started spreading around like wildfire concerning why Conte did that and what was he going to do next and one month later it was officially announced to the public that Antonio Conte had agreed to replace Cesare Prandelli as the new coach of Italy.

Cesare Prandelli went through an underwhelming campaign in the 2014 World Cup as Italy failed to make it out of the group stages and was one of the first top European nations to be knocked out from the worldwide event and Prandelli later decided to step down and resign.

So far, at the time of writing this article Antonio Conte has been in charge of 2 matches for Italy and both of them concluded with Italy coming out as the victorious team.  Norway and Netherlands succumbed to 2-0 defeats over the team of Antonio Conte.

Conte was selected as the man to restore the glory days of Italy and turn them into the champions of the world just how they were a few years ago in 2006 when they lifted the World Cup title in a dramatic final match against France which concluded in a penalty session with Italy winning the game and so far it has kicked off in superb form.

Antonio Conte is hoping that he can turn Italy into a compact team as it can help the players increase their relationships between each other as the former Juventus coach said: “I want Italy to become like a small club side.  This is so we can create a synergy, to improve relationships.  It’s a difficult moment for us right now but we can overcome it’’
